Responsibility

Dallaglio Investments develops and operates commercial scale Zimbabwean gold mines.

Our founding shareholders were guided by the principle that we do not find mines, we build them.

 

In 2015, we refurbished Pickstone Peerless mine and brought it back to life. This gold mine had not been operational for 44 years. The process plant was designed and built in-house, a testament to the skills and experience we have in our people. After the success in bringing Pickstone Peerless back to life we have embarked on an even more challenging refurbishment of the Eureka Mine located near Guruve. Once operational Eureka will be one of the largest and most technologically advanced mines in Zimbabwe.

 

Our vision is to become Zimbabwe’s leading gold mining company, creating value for our people now and in generations to come. Together we strive to innovate, explore, build, and operate gold mining assets in a world class way.

 

• Employment creation for Chegutu and Guruve community members.
• PPE donations to Chegutu District Hospital, Mafuti Clinic and Farnham Clinic.
• Donation of food hampers in Concession, Stewartonia, Masterpiece and Fanham farms in Chegutu.
• Donation of Covid 19 PPE to Guruve COVID-19 Task Force.
• Fixing of theatre lights and donation of fuel for ambulance at Guruve District Hospital.
• Repair of borehole cylinders for Muroiwa and Mazhambe villages.
• Dallaglio CEO engagement with Guruve Community.
• Donation of 300 tons of mealie meal and 500 blankets for Covid 19 assistance through His Excellency E.D.Mnangagwa.
• Donated Covid 19 PPE to schools in Pickstone Primary, Tiverton Primary in Chegutu and Muroiwa, Muzika, Guruve and Chimanikire primary schools in Guruve.
• Introduction of the garden project at Pickstone and Tiverton schools to help them be more self-sufficient.
• School feeding scheme at Pickstone and Tiverton primary schools in Chegutu and Muzika, Muroiwa, Guruve, and Chimanikire primary schools in Guruve.
• Donation of textbooks and stationery to Tiverton and Pickstone Primary schools in Chegutu.
• Donation of medical supplies, chairs, and tables to Fanham clinic in Chegutu.
• Repair of school furniture for Tiverton and Pickstone primary schools in Chegutu.

 

At Eureka mine, we provide support to 12 villages, whilst at Pickstone Peerless mine we are currently working with 5 villages.

 

At the recent 2020 Zimbabwe National edition of the Environment, Responsible Business and CSR Awards, Dallaglio won the Excellence in Community Empowerment & Responsive Investment Award.

 

This is a testament to the value we place in the communities where we operate.

Health, Safety and Environmental

Management

To support the Dallaglio Corporate Safety, Health and Environmental Policy, the Dallaglio Team is dedicated to the protection of the Safety and Health of all employees, contractors and sub-contractors who are involved in its activities and minimizing the project’s impacts on the environment and to work cooperatively with its host communities.

 

• Ensure that safety and health of personnel is seen as an individual and shared responsibility through effective SHE Leadership.
• Establish measurable objectives and Targets based on sound risk assessment methodology, conduct regular reviews of the system and measure performance through management self-audits.
• Review the SHE Management systems to adequately prevent environmental pollution and to protect our environment, employees, contractors, visitors, and property.
• Comply and fulfil all applicable SHE compliance obligations and any other SHE requirements, company policies and procedure.
• Train our employees and contractors on our SHE systems requirements.
• Communicate with interested parties on SHE issues and contributing to the development of policies and legislation that affect us.
• Conduct or support research and establish programmes to conserve resources, minimize waste generation, improve process efficiency and effectiveness, and to protect the environment, our employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Communicate and avail our SHE policy to the public, our stakeholders, employees, and suppliers of goods and services so that they are aware of our mutual obligations in SHE risk management.
• Take due care to prevent process loss, property damage, occupational related injuries/ill health and ensure that activities are safe for employees, contractors and stakeholders who encounter our work environment.
• We are committed to continual improvement of our Safety, Health and Environmental Management System by routinely identifying, eliminating, and/or controlling SHE risks and aspects in our operations to enhance our SHE performance.
